This is interesting. A new video game project promises to let players enter the dark world of Dexter, the serial killer who works as a forensic blood spatter expert.
The character of Dexter was created for was created by author Jeff Lindsay and adapted for the television series of the same name. Michael C. Hall, who you’ll remember from Six Feet Under, plays the vigilante who has found an outlet for his psychopathic behaviour by seeking to punish criminals he believes have escaped justice.
In an announcement today, Mark Ecko Entertainment announced that it has licensed the character and the show for a video game.
“Dexter is the extremely rare television show with enough layers of action and tension to translate perfectly into a compelling videogame,” said Marc Fernandez, VP of Marc Ecko Entertainment, in a statement. “Our game designers, writers, and artists are going to give Dexter’s morally complex world the kind of interactivity that gamers will love.”
No word yet on what platforms the game will be created for, or when gamers can expect to be able to step into the experience.
One things is for sure, though: this game has the potential to be creepy good, and to challenge critics and gamers alike.
